Ellie's debut in 2015

Help us save Ellie!
Thousands of people have taken photos with Ellie the pink elephant over the years... Now she needs a little help from all of us. We are starting a fundraiser to give Ellie a fiberglass shell!

Save Ellie Fundraiser
Ellie has been part of the wonderfully weird landscape of Safety Harbor for more than a decade. She was originally created in 2015 as a mascot for SHAMc, but there’s one problem: Florida weather is not very friendly to giant foam elephants.
Over the years, storms, sun, wind, and rain have taken their toll. Every big storm seems to take another little chunk out of Ellie, and we’re ready to give her the protection she deserves.

With the funds raised through this campaign, we’ll bring back Ellie’s original sculptor, Kumpa Tawornprom, to cover her with a durable fiberglass exterior. This will help repair and weatherproof Ellie so she can greet Safety Harbor visitors for years to come!
What your donation will help do:
Repair Ellie • Fiberglass her exterior • Weatherproof her
• Preserve her for the future •
Donations can be made online or in person at SHAMc. If you donate $5 or more on-site, we’ll give you a Save Ellie sticker - designed by artist Katie Bush- as a thank you for your support! (note: We reopen September 15)
Help us save Ellie - and spread the word!
Donations are tax-deductible! SHAMc is a nonprofit organization.
