MEET THE ARTIST

Madelyn Allen, known affectionately as Mady, is a talented teen fiber artist whose passion for crochet shines through every stitch she creates. For the past four years, Mady has been developing her craft, transforming simple strands of yarn into imaginative, joyful works of art. She proudly describes herself as a crocheter - an artist who loves the rhythmic, meditative movement of looping yarn into form. For Mady, the steady repetition keeps her mind focused and free, allowing creativity to flow naturally.
Like many artists, Mady uses her work to express ideas, visions, and connections. Her creative process often begins with color: a shade that reminds her of blueberry candy, marshmallows, butterflies, or even someone in her life who brings her joy. Whether she’s following a pattern or inventing an original design, she approaches each project with intention, curiosity, and care.
Mady’s crochet pieces have become some of the top sellers at the Safety Harbor Art & Music Center’s ARTery, loved by both kids and adults. From her whimsical jellyfish and sweet bunny plushies to her beautifully crafted baskets and bags, every piece reflects her high-quality craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
