MEET THE ARTIST

When I was in third grade, I started weaving potholders during play time. Quite often, I would not finish my potholders when play time was up, so I would rip it up from the loom, tuck it into my desk cubby (people of a certain age had a desk like that!), then finish it while the teacher taught our lessons. Never got caught. Fast forward to 2017, while walking through Hobby Lobby and I saw the loom and loops. Hmmm….I thought.
The loops for the potholders come from Harrisville, NH - a historic mill village. The loops are not the same ones as I used to get from Woolworth’s - back in the day. They come in a great assortment of colors and better quality.
I enjoy weaving as much now as ever. I am a very small operation currently, but may grow a little in the future.
I love to travel with my husband, much of it to see live music. I enjoy gardening, hiking and biking, reading, cooking, and volunteering for Toymakers of East Lake (making wooden toys for children “in need of a smile”).
SHAMc’s Unique Boutique is a great place to sell my potholders and trivets. I feel honored to have my “little hobby” displayed amongst the other pieces created by such incredibly talented artists.
