MEET THE ARTIST

Willena “Billie” Pearson is a third-generation weaver whose artistry is rooted in family tradition, resourcefulness, and a lifelong love of textiles. With more than 50 years of professional weaving experience, Billie has mastered the craft not only as an art form, but as a way of life. As a single mother, she used her weaving to help raise her daughter - creating beauty, stability, and sanity one thread at a time.

Billie’s work is known for its sustainability and creativity. She primarily weaves with recycled materials- old jeans, corduroy pants, chenille bedspreads, wool skirts, and other lovingly repurposed fabrics. Every piece is infused with history, texture, and new life. With over six floor looms in her studio, each serving a unique purpose, Billie is able to design an extraordinary range of woven works, from short runners and pillows to full floor-size creations. Her artistry allows her to match any home décor and color palette with warmth and authenticity.

In addition to weaving, Billie enjoys exploring all forms of textile-based arts. She creates everything from whimsical bird strands to upcycled fashion, celebrating the limitless possibilities of cloth, fiber, and thread.
